Aurora Borealis by S. E. Price

dancing lights— humming lights–
a solar hand strokes the magnetosphere,
the Earth’s own light;

like entranced dancers
escaping gravity’s declaration
in the place where space and earth meet.
One solid, hard and bound,
the other ephemeral
as powder on a butterfly’s wing
