LIGHT by Brian Campbell

After the clamour
and claxon of the city –

a single filament’s glow
translucent whispers
as we bed down for the night

Drywall surrounds us

a touch
a flow
a frond of delight

as we

grow

full

My second collection, Passenger Flight, was published by Signature Editions in 2009. My previous titles are Guatemala and Other Poems and Undressing the Night, a translation of the selected poems of the Nicaraguan-Canadian poet Francisco Santos.

My poetry has appeared in numerous reviews in print and online including The Saranac Review, The Antigonish Review, Contemporary Verse 2, The New Quarterly, Nth Position and Evergreen Review.  I was also a finalist for the 2006 CBC Literary Award for Poetry.  In addition, I have written book reviews for The Rover and The Montreal Review of Books.
