MOTHER’S DAY by JULIE DE BELLE née Hamel

MY MOTHER IS A TRAIN
WITH A CRACKED REGULATOR
HUFFIN’ AND PUFFIN’

HER STEAMED – POWERED WHISTLE SPEWING
WITH 80 POUNDS OF ANGER
AND SUFFERING GONE WILD

MADNESS ON THE LOOSE

LIKE THE LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD
SHE CAN BULLDOZE YOU TO THE GRAVE
GRINDING SANITY INTO THE RAILS

MY MOTHER IS A TRAIN
OUT OF CONTROL
FROM BOILER TO CYLINDER

WITH NOT A SOUL ON BOARD

SHE IS ROLLING MY WAY
PISTON’S A PUMPIN’
CRANKSHAFT A CRANKIN’

CHIMNEY A SMOKIN’

MY MOTHER
IS THE RUN AWAY TRAIN
INEVITABLE WRECK

SHE IS DRAGGING A BULLDOG
CHAINED TO THE CABOOSE
CHOO CHEWING WITH RAGE

MY MOTHER IS A TRAIN
BARRELLING DOWN THE TRACK
HEADING FOR HER FINAL ATTACK
