On the Other Side by Yoko’s Dogs

straight out of the river bank
the old maple
bridge to the standing wave

love on the other side
in the dream the bridge is burning

she’s learned to walk
on smoldering coals
but prefers a bed of nails

fill in the background with
crossed safety pins
